Yemeni peace talks to resume Wednesday in Kuwait
Kuwait - Arab Today

The three Yemeni negotiating teams will resume the peace talks later Wednesday three days after the government delegation suspended their participation in the talks, UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed announced late Tuesday night.

Representatives of the Yemeni government, the General People's Congress and Ansarullah movement renewed commitment to backing the recently-launched truce monitoring committee in its efforts to prevent recurrence of hostilities nationwide in collaboration with local committees.

They agreed that the committee will work for solving the thorny field problems, inspect the situation at the headquarters of Al-Maleqa Brigade, and report on any breaches of the ceasefire within 72 hours, (KUNA) quoted Cheikh Ahmed as saying at a press release.

He thanked Kuwait's Acting Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif Al-Zayani for their efforts to advance the peace talks.

He reaffirmed the UN support to the Yemeni peace process and the relief effort for the Yemenis trapped in the conflict.
