Adel Emam: No comment on Mubarak verdict

Veteran Egyptian actor Adel Imam has refused to comment on the verdict on the case against former president Hosni Mubarak, his two sons, his interior minister Habib el-Adly and six of his aides. He said in a statement to Arabstoday: “I have not made ??any statements that showed my sympathy with Mubarak after being sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering demonstrators, because it is not our specialty to comment on the provisions of the judiciary,” adding the Egyptian judiciary is know for its integrity and honour. Judge Ahmad Rifaat sentenced also acquited Gamal and Alaa Mubarak, in a case of profiteering and abusing power due to a statute of limitations, while the aides were acquitted for lack of evidence. Emam has almost finished shooting his last scenes on the new show "Ferket Naji Atallah" (Naji Atallah’s group) starring Anushka, Ahmed Saadani, Mohammed Imam, Amr Ramzy and Nidal El-Shafei.
