Moroccan singer Saeeda Fekry returns to her fans after a long absence with a new song called “Weld El Zanga”, along with a whole new album written by young poet Aziz Mutia, composed by her, and music by Belal Al-Zelal known as “Africano”. She also filmed the video clip of the song.
During an interview with “Arab Today”, Saeeda said that, this new song is similar to her previous songs, as its words address street children phenomenon, which became a dangerous social problem threatens the Moroccan society, confirming that, this song is a call for the injustice and suffering faced by young Moroccans.
Saaeda or best known as “People artist” said that, the circumstances of young Moroccans must be changed, asking the government, society and human rights organizations to work together to help this young people. She expressed her happiness for reactions to her new song on YouTube, and stressed on the importance of inserting music principles in schools’ curriculums to enrich children imaginations in order to gain positive attitude towards society.
Saeeda Fekry was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1971. She wrote her first song when she was 12 years old, learned American “Country” music when she was 14, and started her career in 1994 when she released her first album. Her songs address young people problems and ambitions, and talk about family values, friendship and freedom. Her songs diverse between in Moroccan accent, classical Arab, French and English.
