Lebanese singer Wael Kafoury told Arabstoday that a rumour in which his dinner invitation was refused by French singer Charles Aznavour was completely baseless: “The rumor about the international star Charles Aznavour refusing my dinner invitation during his stay in Lebanon is not true and fabricated,” adding “I didn’t even send him invitation in an first place!”. Wael says despite not inviting the famous singer, he was in fact an admirer of Charles's music and has a large collection of old discs which he had specially transferred onto CD's. Wael Kafoury said he did not know how the rumour came about but said that those who started spreading it in the first place "should write TV dramas instead so he can make money from his rich imagination,” Wael said it was unfortunate that journalists had to fabricate lies for entertainment purposes.
