Minister of Labour Hind al-Sabeeh
Kuwait - Arab Today

The third session of the "Abu Dhabi Dialogue" constitutes a major phase of joint action among the participant states for the good of their peoples, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh said on Thursday.
The joint scheme that kicked off in Dubai in 2008 established basic principles for cooperation, motivated by a belief in mutual interests, Al-Sabeeh told the opening session of "Abu Dhabi Dialogue 3" that opened here today.
Kuwait is chair of this Third Ministerial Consultative Meeting of Asian Countries Sending and Receiving Labor (Abu Dhabi Dialogue 3), for two years.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the session, considered to be the implementation stage of previously agreed upon projects " that serve our goals and contribute to achieving development for our countries and welfare for our peoples." Today's gathering follows up on what has been achieved by previous meetings since 2008, Philippines Secretary of Labor and Employment Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz, said.
Philippines held the past two-year presidency of the consultative dialogue, now claimed by Kuwait.
Dimapilis-Baldoz referred to the adoption of issues and initiatives on the contractual, or temporary labor, thanks to cooperation between labor source and target countries.
Participants have agreed on enhancing cooperation between sending and receiving countries and sharing data on labor markets through developing an integrated framework on temporary labor, she told the session.
The Philippines Secretary also pointed to two major documents adopted by the Abu Dhabi Dialogue 2 on a regional framework for cooperation between the two sides.
Meanwhile, she said Manila is ready to cooperate with Kuwait, UAE and other member countries in projects for training temporary labor, which is essential for developing skills and remedying problems related to labor and employment.
Director-General of Kuwait's Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), Jamal Al-Dosari told reporters on the sidelines of the Dialogue that a host of projects had been submitted to the event aiming at enhancing cooperation.
One was offered by the UAE on safeguarding wages, and another from Oman on liaison centers and protection of migrant labor. Saudi Arabia submitted a third on settling labor disputes.
