Maj-Gen. Obaid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme organising committee of IDEX, has said that countries participating in the IDEX, 2015 have clinched deals, and they can announce the details according to their free will.
"We do not intervene in their affairs and we do not ask them about, and they will be declared as per their own knowledge and own approval, "he was answering a query from a journalist during the daily press conference about the status of deals done by other nations. " About the demand for IDEX bookings, the IDEX spokesman said, "We have seen a high demand for bookings and we will see at the end of the current edition of IDEX 2015. We expect an increase in the spaces and also an increase in the number of participating companies." On a question about any decision from UAE to buy the light strike aircrafts from Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano from Brazil, the spokesman clarified that no decision has been made so far and there is nothing to clarify the situation on any deals on these aircrafts so far. "And just to make sure that there is no ambiguity on this issue," he made it clear.
Answering a question about any external buyers with the UAE companies, the spokesman said that," I am sure that many people have discussed this point, and I am sure that some parties were interested in buying and purchasing from our national companies as our products are now highly qualified and world class and many countries want to obtain them and I think yes positively speaking there are many contracts but this is also left to the companies to comment on these deals.
