Chairperson of Algerian National Front Moussa Towati revealed the possibility of forming electoral coalitions with other political parties sharing the same ideas and political line in preparation for the coming parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on May 4. He added, in a statement to "Arabs Today", that his party decided to run for the coming elections, as the boycott will not serve the intetests of Algeria and does not provide any alternative. He added that he managed to collect signatures from 20 Algerian States upon the electoral law. The Algerian politician expressed his skepticism over guarantees provided by the Algerian authorities to ensure the integrity of the coming elections. He said that the high independent authority to monitor the elections is a major reason behind his fear. He signaled that the authority was formed by a presidential decree, while its members have been paid from the Algerian government, saying that they cannot cover all provinces because of the lack of its members. He expected that the coming elections will not witness high turnout, calling the Algerian government for bearing its responsibility and providing the suitable atmosphere to support the Algerian people for participating in the event. He pointed out to the visits he conducted to a number of governorates, saying that the Algerian people's demands pushed him to participate in the elections. He stressed the importance of keeping security in the country, saying that Algerian security is a red line. He warned of the international reports over the possible chaos that could hit the country like what happened in a number of Arab States during the so-called Arab Spring. He stressed that such reports are a part of conspiracy against Algeria, adding that Algerian security is more important than any elections.
