Cairo - Arab Today

Egypt has called on Israel to immediately end its escalation policy and attacks against holy sites, the Al Aqsa Mosque in particular.

A Foreign Ministry statement warned Tuesday of the repercussions of such escalation.

It urged the world community and international organizations concerned to live up to their responsibility in protecting Islamic sanctuaries in Al Quds and securing the Palestinian people.

They should act to stop the attacks on Al Aqsa and worshippers, the statement said, noting that those attacks constitute a clear violation of international and humanitarian laws.
