TUNISIA - Arabstoday

Three mortar shells fell on Monday inside the Tunisian territory near the border with Libya, 300m South of the Lamlass border crossing, near Dhehiba, in the Governorate of Tataouine, an informed source from the National Defense Ministry said. A fourth mortar shell fell in the same day, 500 m to the Tunisian-Libyan borderline, the source said, specifying that the four mortars fell in uninhabited areas. The same source ruled out assumption of a premeditated act, underlining that this cannot be source of concern. It said that the National Defense Ministry has informed the Foreign Affairs Ministry to take needed steps to this effect with the Libyan side, according to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP). Clashes intensified on Monday in western part of Libya, along the Nafoussa mountain range and at the outskirts of the city of Nalout and neighboring regions which are close to the Tunisian-Libyan borders.
