Chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security
Tehran - FNA

Chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi underscored that the latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran refuted the West's allegations and propaganda against the country.
"The IAEA's positive report on the Islamic Republic of Iran's performance in area of peaceful nuclear activities is the end point to the allegations and accusations of the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) member states against Iran," Boroujerdi said Saturday.
"In the pervious IAEA reports, many defects were mentioned with regard to Iran's nuclear activities but the inspections, cooperation and transparency in this field has made the recent report of the international body highly positive and desirable," he added.
Now any further repetition of pervious allegations against Iran's nuclear program will from now on prove that they are just pursuing a merely political and non-technical view about Iran's civilian nuclear activities, Boroujerdi said.
The IAEA report said Iran has implemented one of the five practical measures that it agreed with the Agency in May 2014 in the third step of the Framework for Cooperation by the agreed deadline of 25 August 2014; implemented two of the five measures after the deadline; and began discussions with the Agency on the other two practical measures.
The report said the IAEA continues its work of monitoring and verification according to Joint Plan of Action (JPA) and confirmed that there has been no diversion in Iran's nuclear activities.
The Agency requested that Iran propose new practical measures by 2 September 2014 to be implemented by Iran in the next step in relation to the Framework for Cooperation.
According to the report, the Agency has continued to undertake monitoring and verification in relation to the nuclear-related measures set out in the Joint Plan of Action.
The report said since the JPA took effect, Iran has not enriched UF6 above 5% U-235 at any of its declared facilities. As a result of down-blending and conversion that has taken place over the same period, Iran no longer has a stock of UF6 enriched up to 20% U-235.
According to the report, while enrichment of UF6 up to 5% U-235 continues at a rate of production similar to that indicated in the Director General’s previous reports, as Iran has begun converting some of this nuclear material at the Enriched UO2 Powder Plant (EUPP), the amount of such nuclear material that remains in the form of UF6 enriched up to 5% U-235 has decreased to 7,765 kg.
The report went on to say that no additional major components have been installed at the IR-40 Reactor and there has been no manufacture and testing of fuel for the reactor.
It said Iran has continued to provide the Agency with managed access to centrifuge assembly workshops, centrifuge rotor production workshops and storage facilities.
In August, the IAEA appreciated Tehran for its cooperation, and said the agency officials held positive negotiations with Iran.
In its latest report issued in Vienna at the time, the IAEA appreciated the positive and progressive negotiations with Iran, and lauded Tehran for its cooperation.
The trend of negotiations between Iran and the IAEA had been fully positive, specially in the past year, the IAEA report said.
IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano was in the Iranian capital in August at the head of a high-ranking delegation.
During the visit, Amano appreciated the positive and progressive negotiations with Iran, and lauded Tehran for its cooperation.
After the IAEA released its new report on Iran's nuclear activities, Tehran's Envoy to the IAEA Reza Najafi said that the UN nuclear watchdog once again confirmed non-diversion of Iran's civilian nuclear activities.
Najafi said on Friday that the UN nuclear watchdog stressed that Iran's nuclear program had not been diverted to other purposes and Tehran had implemented all voluntary measures based on the November 24 interim agreement.
He further added that the IAEA report highlighted once again Iran's transparent nuclear policies.Najafi went on to say that his country provided required documents and information that its detonators were used in the oil and gas industries and the IAEA had in fact acknowledged that these detonators could also be used for industrial purposes.
He said on all other past issues, there had been five practical steps within the third stage of practical discussions between Iran and the Vienna-based UN nuclear agency.
