Occupied Jerusalem - Arab Today

Israel Thursday revoked 83,000 Ramadan travel and entry permits for Palestinian families from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to visit relatives and holy sites in Jerusalem and Israel during the month of Ramadan.
The decision came after two Palestinian gunmen opened fire in the Sarona Market food and retail centre on Wednesday evening, killing four Israelis and wounded 16 others, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.
The Israeli civil administration said in a press release that all permits issued for the duration of the month of Ramadan were frozen, especially for those visiting from the West Bank.
It added that hundreds of permits issued for people from the Gaza Strip to visit family and pray in Jerusalem during Ramadan were also frozen.
Beside the 83,000 Palestinians who would be affected, Israel also revoked work permits for 204 relatives of the two gunmen, who were identified as Khaled and Mohammad Makhamreh from the town of Yatta, south of Hebron.
The measure also effectively bans Palestinians from using Israel’s international airport – Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv.
