Gaza - BNA

The Israeli navy on Monday arrested four Palestinian fishermen after shelling and sinking their fishing boat off the Gaza, according to the Palestinian Info and News Agency "WAFA".
The Fishermen Syndicate in Gaza told WAFA that around 4,000 fishermen are supporting over 50,000 people. Fishermen of Gaza continue to endure huge loses and risk their lives in order to make a living.
The Israeli navy continue to target Palestinian fishermen off Gaza’s shores almost on a daily basis causing civilian casualties among fishermen and inflicting severe damage to their boats.
During the Israeli aggression last summer, Palestinian fishermen suffered gross financial losses after Israeli jetfighters struck sheds storing fishing equipment. The current six-nautical-mile fishing zone falls drastically short of meeting the actual demand for fish products in Gaza and the West Bank.
