Israeli police on Wednesday shot and killed two Palestinians youths outside the New Gate area in Jerusalem, after they reportedly opened fire towards Israeli settlers, according to local sources.
Witnesses told WAFA that Israeli policemen opened fire at the two youths and left them to bleed on the ground. They added that one of them succumbed to his wounds and died at the scene, while the other one died while on his way to hospital.
The two have not yet been identified.
Israeli police claimed the one of the two Palestinians had attempted to ram his car into Israeli pedestrians, while the other opened fire towards Israeli settlers in the area. According to the police, at least one Israeli settler was seriously injured due to the alleged attack.
A Palestinian elderly was also reportedly injured due the Israeli police’s firing on the two youths. His case was described as serious.
