Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian referred to the recent agreement between the two countries on the construction of two new nuclear power plants for Iran, and said Moscow will remain committed to its undertakings.
"Russia is committed to its undertakings with regard to Iran and we will act upon all our agreements," Jagarian said in a meeting with member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission and Head of the parliament's Research Center Kazzem Jalali in Tehran on Saturday.
Downplaying certain western states' concerns about the recent nuclear deal between Iran and Russia, he said, "Our contracts with Iran are completely transparent and within the framework of the international laws."
Jalali, for his part, referred to the nuclear talks between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany), the last round of which was held in Masqat, Oman, on Tuesday, and said, "Iran has taken its positive steps in the recent negotiations and now it's the G5+1's turn to show its good will in these talks."
The top nuclear officials of Iran and Russia in a meeting in Moscow on Tuesday signed an agreement on the construction of two new nuclear power plants for Iran.
The agreement was signed by Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi and Head of Russia's Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko in the Russian capital.
Salehi, heading a ranking delegation, paid a daylong trips to Moscow on Tuesday.
Upon arrival in the Russian capital, Salehi told reporters that he is also due to "discuss mechanisms for nuclear fuel swaps" with the Russian side.
