The Sudanese Armed Forces asserted that it will not militarily intervene in the conflict in South Sudan or send any military airplanes. In Statements to "Al -Yom Al-Tali" newspaper out on Sunday, Sudan's Armed Forces Spokesman Khaled Saad said the Sudanese Armed Forces have never intervened in the neighboring countries except via protocols. He voiced astonishment over charges of Edward Lino Wuor, the new co-chairman of the Abyei Joint Oversight Committee (AJOC), that Khartoum is involved in South Sudan affairs and is garnering up a military force near the oil rich areas. He described such charges as bare of truth, noting that the presence of Sudanese forces on the borders with the South is normal.
