Antar Boucherit plays for JSM Béjaïa Algiers - Khaled Alloush Algerian footballer Antar Boucherit has revealed that he has been called-up to the Algerian national team for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Benin. Speaking to Arabstoday, the JSM Béjaïa midfielder said he is delighted with the offer and feels honoured to have been selected by national coach Vahid Halilhodži?. Boucherit described Algeria's recent display in the African Cup of Nations as "poor," but shared optimism that the team would overcome difficulties during the upcoming World Cup qualification campaign. The 29-year old explained that he received a phone-call from national team coaching staff inviting him to a training session ahead of the match against Benin on March 26 in Bilda. He said that officials asked for his personal details, along with a contact number for management at JSM Béjaïa. Boucherit says Algerian officials told him that he is among the top 40 players elegible for national team selection, and the current shortage in Algeria's midfield is likely to increase his chances of playing. The midfielder praised the performance of the young players in the African Cup of Nations, but said the lack of experience and cutting edge cost the team in final third.
