Cairo - Hossam Al Said

Egypt's former minister of sport Cairo - Hossam Al Said Egypt's Minister of Sport al-Amry Farouq has resigned from Prime Minister Hisham Kandil's government, as nationwide protests continue for the ouster of President Mohammed Morsi. Farouq has reportedly handed his responsibilities to the sports ministry's executive manager Abdel-Rahman Yousif, until a new minister is appointed. His resignation takes the number of cabinet defections since protests began on Sunday, to six. “The political division in the street has stymied my effort to promote the Egyptian sports,” Farouq said in a statement He added that his decision is final and irreversible. Farouq's tenure as minister was filled with controversy, and an ongoing battle with fans to resume the Egyptian Premier League after the Post Said Stadium disaster.
