Al-Ahly midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika Cairo - Hossam Al Saied Al-Ahly midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika does not want to see the football league return, telling Arabstoday that building Egypt's institutions and infrastructure is more important. The playmaker, 34, who sided with the club's ultras support over the Port Said brawl has deferred his decision to retire from the game, hailing Ahly's recent Champions League triumph as a "miracle." Q - How do you feel about Al-Ahly's victory in the African Champions League, under these difficult circumstances? "I thank God for the success. This title is considered a miracle, much more difficult than the miracle in 2006 because of the circumstances in which we live. The league stopped and sporting activity was frozen, which made the tournament a light out of all the suffering." Q - So would you join your fellow players in their demands for the return of the league again? "No, I don't want the league to return at the moment because there are priorities, and the return of the league before we end the security problems will threaten a new disaster which we do not need." Q - But this situation affects a large number of people, both on and off the pitch. "Of course, I understand their position and I appreciate their circumstances because I suffered from poverty at the beginning, which was very difficult. I know about financial hardships, but there will be a new massacre if we don't postpone the league until the restoration of security." Q - So how did Al-Ahly win the title? "There was a big incentive. We wanted to win the title, to donate it to the Port Said martyrs, and thank God we have been able to achieve this." Q - Personally, How would you rate your performances, after missing a penalty kick? "I did my best and conciliation comes from God, but all players in the world are wasting their penalty kicks and of course this kick didn’t make me think abour retiring, it has led me to defer my decision." Q - When will you make that decision? "My current level has impressed the coaching staff of Al-Ahly, as well as the coaching staff for the national team and when I feel that am losing their confidence, I will stop playing but I have a lot to offer to the team, especially at the World Cup in Brazil." Q - What do you think og Al-Ahly's chances of winning the Club World Cup in Japan? "We have a good opportunity for that and will strive. It is important that we have the same spirit that made us win the Champions League, but we can’t waste our energy, especially as Ahly were open and exposed in the championship. We will fight to achieve advanced level." Q - What about the the national team? "Thankfully, we did well in the World Cup and I am very confident in the abilities of the team. Mr (Bob) Bradley is a ambitious person and if we continue our good performances, we will qualify for the finals." Q - Does Aboutrika feel that he has made mistakes in a lot of situations? "Each person makes mistskes. The main thing is to repent and let bygones be bygones."
