Wydad Casablanca chairman Abdelillah Akram Casablanca – Said Ali Wydad Casablanca chairman Abdelillah Akram has told Arabstoday he will lift the lid on external factors likely to have an impact on the future of the club, at the end of the season. Akram, under pressure to step down following Wydad's dismal campaign, says the fans deserve to know why the team has been so poor. "I will reveal some crucial facts to the media concerning the team's current standing, in a press conference after the final game of the season, at the beginning of June. "It is important for the Wydad fans to be made aware of those trying to destabilise the club from the outside," he added. Akram reiterated that he loves the Casablanca club, and would not resign from his position unless board members instructed him to do so. On Sunday evening, dozens of Wydad fans, part of the Ultras Winners group gathered outside the club headquarters in Casablanca to protest against Akram's handling of the club. The Red and Whites are currently third in Morocco's GNF One division, 12 points behind league leaders and local rivals Raja Casablanca.
