A bus carrying Romanian tourists overturned on a highway in southern France on Sunday, killing an infant and injuring about 40 people, with some in critical condition, emergency workers said. The accident happened around 0730 GMT near the town of Vidauban as the bus travelled towards Nice, police said. The bus veered across the highway after tire problems and tipped over a security barrier onto the incoming lane. An infant was killed during the accident and about 40 people were injured, up to eight of them seriously, local fire department official Frederic Marchi-Leccia said. Police said four victims were in critical condition. Authorities sent about 100 emergency workers, 30 ambulances and nine helicopters to the scene and victims were being evacuated to a hospital in Marseille.
