Ten workers from a construction company were killed in a fire in India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, local sources announced.
The fire broke out in a camp for workers near a highway in the Ramban district early Friday when the victims were sleeping, the same sources added, noting that the workers appeared to have died of suffocation and burns and that four other workers were admitted to hospital with severe burns.
Local police said that although the cause of fire was yet to be determined, it was suspected that an electrical short-circuit caused it.
