India Sunday said that two of its nationals were among 39 people killed in the Istanbul nightclub terror attack.
"I have a bad news from Turkey. We have lost two Indian nationals in the Istanbul attack. Indian Ambassador is on way to Istanbul," Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted.
The attack happened at Reina nightclub, one of the city's most exclusive party spots, early Sunday morning when some 700 revellers were marking the New Year.
A man dressed as Santa Claus reportedly entered the club around 1:15 a.m. local time and started firing at random, killing 39 people, including 15 foreign nationals, and injuring more than 65 others.
Police in Turkey have launched a manhunt to track down the attacker who had left the gun at the nightclub before fleeing the spot.
