Two people were killed in a bomb attack in Turkey's southeast province of Van on Friday, Dogan News Agency reported.
The handmade explosives placed in a culvert in the Catak district of Van left a soldier and a village guard dead, Dogan said.
The explosive device was detonated by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, according to the report.
An air operation launched by security forces to capture terrorists is going on in the area.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015 after a brief period of reconciliation.
