At least 27 people were killed and 25 injured in a rather tragic accident when a stationary bus accidentally slipped into a 1,000 foot deep gorge in the northern Indian state Himachal Pradesh Monday evening, according to local media reports Tuesday. The accident took place at Bilaspur district''s Danoh town, 150 km from the state capital Shimla, when more than 50 passengers were getting onto the stationary bus on a hill highway after the original bus they were riding in had a technical problem and broke down, said Indo-Asian News Service. Because of the darkness, the bus driver couldn''t see the edge of the road. While the passengers were getting on to the bus, it rolled down the hill and fell into a 1,000-foot deep gorge, Police Deputy Commissioner Ritesh Chauhan told the media.
