3 injured by active shooter in Washington

Details are emerging as local police as well as federal agencies and SWAT teams swarm the south east end of the city looking for an "active shooter" near a naval base in Washington, D.C. Three people have been shot but it is unclear if they are still alive. One of the victims is a police officer shot in both legs. The area in question is largely residential but also houses a metro train station. Schools have been shut down for the time being. Local media reports indicate shots are still being heard
