Three Vietnamese people, including two siblings, died from asphyxiation in a private workshop in Hanoi, and three others were hospitalized, local media reported Sunday.
A 43-year-old woman named Nguyen Thi Vui from northern Bac Ninh province, a 22-year-old man named Bui Van Giap and his 16-year-old brother Bui Van Hoang from central Nghe An province was found dead in a cloth and garment workshop owned by a family in the capital citys Gia Lam district on Saturday morning, daily newspaper Thanh Nien (Young People) reported.
Three other people, including a 16-year-old girl, a 19-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were found fainted, and then hospitalized in critical conditions. All of them are from Nghe An and also work for the workshop.
According to initial investigation, due to power blackout, the six hired people brought an electricity generator to their closed room to power electrical appliances and then went to sleep. The generators operation caused gas asphyxiation.
