The death toll from monsoon rains climbed to four and property damage left hundreds without shelter in South Korea. A worker was killed late on Monday and six others are missing after being swept away by river currents at a water pipe construction site near the Han River in Seoul, according to the Korea’s (KBS WORLD) website. Search and rescue efforts were still under way Tuesday afternoon for the missing. The National Emergency Management Agency says three other people were killed in the days leading up to Monday’s accident from the torrential rains. The monsoon rains also displaced 263 people from 122 homes. Some ten roads were restricted in Gangwon Province and the northern parts of Gyeonggi Province due to mudslides or flooding. The Olympic Expressway and Nodeul road in Seoul were waterlogged from on Monday. The roadways were flooded as the Han River rose abruptly following discharges from North Korea’s Imnam Dam and the South’s Paldang Dam.
