Two ships collided in a busy shipping lane in the North Sea, leaving four people dead and seven others missing, the Netherlands coast guard said Thursday. The incident occurred Wednesday when the car carrier Baltic Ace, en route from Zeebrugge, Belgium, to Kotka, Finland, collided with a container vessel traveling from Grangemouth, Britain, to Antwerp, Belgium, CNN reported. The Baltic Ace immediately began sinking after the collision about 32 miles west of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Rescuers took 13 crew members suffering from hypothermia and minor injuries to the hospital. They called off the search overnight, CNN reported.
