A four-year-old girl was found unharmed under the bodies of her parents and a grand-parent after three tourists and an apparent bystander were shot dead in the Upper Alps region of south-eastern France Wednesday, police and media sources said Thursday. The young-girl is the second survivor of the unexplained killing in the mountainous region, a favourite of French and foreign tourists. The victims in the car - a man and two women - are believed British and their car was registered in the United Kingdom. Police initially discovered late Wednesday a wounded eight-year-old girl on the scene and four bodies, three in the car and a cyclist nearby. The wounded girl was hospitalised in critical condition in Grenoble hospital. But it was some hours later during forensic examination of the car that the police found the second young girl, terrified and lying still under the bodies. "She is unharmed, but is obviously shocked," a police investigator said on "France Info" radio. The eight-year-old girl's condition is stabilised but she is seriously injured. "She was violently stuck and has a fractured skull...but she seems out of danger," the investigator said. No gun was found at the scene of the shooting, but a number of shell casings were recovered and police are searching the area for the perpetrators.
