A report developed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance revealed a rise in the number of terrorist attacks during the holy month of Ramadan, amounting to 53 attacks around the world, which killed 1,576 people and wounded 2,556 others.

Such attacks indicate that terrorist don’t respect the Islamic teachings of tolerance, and ignore the fact that the holy month is about forgiveness and worship.
This has prompted experts to describe these attacks as the “contradictory terrorist mentality.”
Abdul Monem Al-Mashouh, director of Al-Sakinah Campaign, said terrorist attacks escalated during Ramadan with more brutality and violence.
“These attacks reflect the contradicting image of the terrorist mentality that tries to disguise itself with the outfit of religion but at the same time highlights devil’s schemes,” Al-Mashouh said.
He added: “The ideology of the terrorist groups seeks to exploit the emotional situation surrounding this holy month.”
He noted that terror acts during Ramadan highlight a clear sign of their misguided concepts and ideology.
“Islam urges Muslims during this month to perform additional worship and prayers with peace, tranquility and serenity,” he said.
He said these groups want to demolish all that is sacred and holy, and their failed attempt at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah is a proof that they are the enemies of Islam.
“We strongly need to highlight, enhance and strengthen the positive image of Islam, which reveals the meanings of civilization and sophistication in communities,” he said.
In Jordan, five people were killed in a terrorist attack that targeted the general security office in Baqaa; another terrorist attack targeted 21 persons of the military and security establishment, killing a number of them and injuring others on the northeastern border in the area near to the Syrian refugee camp.
Four consecutive attacks targeted the Lebanese town of Al-Qaa in Baalbek District, near the Syrian city of Qasr. The attacks killed and wounded several persons.
Another attack killed 50 people in a nightclub in Orlando in Florida.
In France a policeman and his wife were killed. Daesh took responsibility for the attack.
Other bloody bombings were carried out at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, claiming the lives of 45 people and injuring more than 200 others.
