Six people died and two were seriously injured in a snowmobile accident in Italy's autonomous province of Trentino, authorities said on Saturday. The eight people involved in the accident at Mount Cermis late Friday were all Russian citizens, said a Russian consular official in Milan. Rescue services said the eight had been riding aboard a snowmobile and attached sled on an unlit ski slope that was considered suitable only for expert skiers. When the snowmobile veered off-course, they were all tossed towards the rocks below. Four men and two women died, while the two injured - including the driver - were evacuated by helicopter, according to the daily La Stampa. The driver and his wife, owner of a local hotel, were taking six tourists back to the hotel when the accident occurred.
