The bodies of seven slain men and women were found Sunday in a home in Cancun, Mexico, authorities said. Police officials said it appeared the victims had been strangled, Por Esto reported. Artuiro Olivarez Mendiola, head of the judicial police in Cancun, said the bodies of the five men and two women were found after police received an anonymous call. The victims had been blindfolded and bound hand and foot. "They were all lying in the yard at the back of the house," the police chief said. Investigators were questioning several people, including the owner of the house. The newspaper said authorities suspect the slayings were connected to drug trafficking. La Jornada reported the seven Cancun killings were among 22 homicides in Quintana Roo Coahuila, Tamaulipas and Guerrero states during the weekend.
