A car bomb exploded Wednesday near a mosque in Bahrain's second largest city of Riffa, leaving no casualties, the country's Interior Ministry said on Thursday. According to the ministry, a booby-trapped car exploded in the parking lot of the Shaikh Isa bin Salman mosque in Riffa. "The explosion occurred while people are praying at the mosque. It was detonated by a gas cylinder," the ministry said, adding that no one was injured in the attack and an investigation was underway. Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ordered the security authorities to take all necessary measures to crack down on the assailants who carried out terrorist attacks during the holy month of Ramadan. The incident has evoked strong reaction of Bahrain's Sunni community, which has warned of retaliatory attacks.
