Nearly 200 people were killed and more than 1.5 million displaced as severe flooding hit Asia, including China which is battling the worst floods in a decade, officials said, according to DPA. About 170 people have been reported killed in China, while nearly 200 were still missing in the deluges, the Chinese government said. The worst-hit region was north-eastern China, where at least 85 people were reported killed and 105 of the missing in flooding that destroyed 60,000 homes. Hydrologists in the north-eastern province of Heilongjiang warned that the floods could become the worst on record along the Heilongjiang river, the semi-official China News Service reported.
