A cargo plane has crashed near the airport in the Ghanaian capital Accra and hit a bus outside a stadium, killing at least 10 people, but the crew survived. The operator of the Kotoka International Airport issued a statement on Saturday saying that "flight number DHV 111, cargo aircraft, operating from Lagos to Accra, has overshot the runway on landing on Saturday, June 2, at 7:10 p.m. local time," AFP reported. The statement added that "the crew of four people on board all survived the accident and are currently receiving treatment at the airport clinic. The aircraft collided with a minivan, resulting in 10 confirmed fatalities..." Rescue workers, police officers, and fire fighters rushed to the scene of the crash and cordoned off the area. One eyewitness said he saw the Allied Air plane coming down and hitting the bus. "I closed from work, walking home in the rain, only to see the plane falling and people in the Benz bus crushed to death," Kofi Anor stated.
