Senator Nilofar Bakhtiar made the remarks, heading a Pakistani delegation in a meeting to review the destruction caused by floods in southern parts of Pakistan. Last month, Pakistan has been pounded by heavy monsoon rains which have caused massive floods in the province of Sindh. The floods have brought about massive damage to all infrastructures of the country. Iran has announced the aid of 100 million dollars for the rehabilitation of flood stricken people. “We have no words to express our gratitude to Iranian nation”, said Nilofar Bakhtiar. Iranian delegation was represented by Agha Seyyed Hamid Azeemi, Director of the International Affairs Bureau of the Imam Khomeini (P) Aid Committee and Hassan Qadmi, Director of the Crisis Management Headquarters of the IRI Interior Ministry. During the meeting ways to overcome Pakistan flood crisis were discussed. The Iranian delegation said that Tehran will continue its humanitarian assistance to the Pakistani flood victims. The delegation said that the representatives of the Iran Red Crescent Society should be given more visas so that they could perform their duties at ease. Nilofar Bakhtiar said that last year Iran was the first country to help Pakistan to overcome its flood crisis and even today Iran is helping the country in the same manner. She thanked the NGOs of Iran for their help to rehabilitate flood affectees. Member operations Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Brig Sajid Naeem said that Iran will be building a hospital in Pakistan. “We have selected the land at three different provinces for this purpose which we would like to show the Iranian delegation”, he said.
