Iran’s Red Crescent Society (IRCS) sent on Thursday a planeload of its humanitarian aid for the famine-stricken people of Somalia. The 40-ton cargo, included 20 tons of rice, 10 tons of cereals, five tons of canned food and five tons of sugar, was sent to the capital city of Somalia, Mogadishu, Thursday morning, said an IRCS’ statement. Spreading famine and drought in the Horn of Africa, Somalia in particular, caused 11 millions of people to leave in tragic condition. Iran has repeatedly announced its support for the people of Somalia stressing that it would spare no effort in helping Somalis survive the tragic situation.
