Two Turkish soldiers were killed and another wounded when a land mine set by Kurdish militants exploded, reports said Monday. The victims were in a vehicle passing a land mine detonated by members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party in Hakkari province, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News reported Monday. The incident is the latest in a series of clashes between the Party and Turkish military and police. Military operations were launched against the party in the eastern province of Daglica after a similar land mine attack Aug. 18. Four party positions were hit by rocket fire from the Turkish Air Force, and 15 militants were killed, the newspaper said.
