Five people were killed, including the suspect himself, in a workplace shooting on Thursday afternoon in Minnesota, local TV reported. The gunman, a discontent ex-employee of Accent Signage Systems, killed his ex-boss and three others before turning the weapon on himself, according to the report. A high-ranking law enforcement official told Minneapolis-based Fox 9 TV that the shooter arrived at the office Thursday afternoon after being terminated from his job earlier in the morning and started shooting after 4:45 p.m. (2245 GMT). Four others were hospitalized because of injuries, three were in critical condition, said Fox 9 TV. Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak posed a message on Twitter asking local people to stay away from the crime scene. Governor Mark Dayton deplored the incident. "There is no place for it anywhere in Minnesota. I extend my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the innocent people killed or wounded," he said in a statement. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, workplace homicides claimed 458 victims last year.
