Nigerian police in Kano State in the northwest of the West African country have arrested 10 suspects of the Boko Haram sect in connection with the recent attacks, in which two policemen and two road safety corps officers were killed. State police commissioner Ibrahim Idris on Thursday said the eight of the arrestees were being quizzed over the killing of two policemen in the Kofar Dawanu area, while the other two were masterminds of the attack that claim the lives two road officials in the Madobi area. The police chief said one of the suspects sustained gunshot injuries during the process of arrest and later died in the hospital and that the second suspect is Ibrahim Inusa of Sudanese parentage, with no fixed address is in police custody. Idris appealed to members of the public not to relent in giving useful information to the police that will assist them in their campaign to rid Kano and environ of criminals activities and adequately protect lives and property of innocent citizens. Kano is one of the states in northern Nigeria where the Boko Haram sect has launched numerous attacks since 2009, especially in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State.
