A woman pilot was killed and flight instructor got injured when a plane belonging to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed near the country's east Mianwali city on Tuesday afternoon, local media and officials said.
Spokesperson of the PAF said the pilots were on their routine training mission when the crash occurred near Mianwali, a district located in the country's east Punjab province.
The spokesperson added that Flight Officer Marium Mukhtar was killed while squadron leader Saqib Abbasi got injured.
The PAF spokesperson said the pilots saved the plane from falling on residential area; therefore no causality took place on the ground.
Police and rescue teams reached the crash site and cordoned off the wreckage of the plane.
The PAF spokesman said an inquiry has been ordered.
