Belgrade - UPI

Russia has agreed to send another aircraft to Serbia to help the country fight wildfires, officials said Saturday. Over the past two days, Serbia has been hit by 250 wildfires as temperatures in the country soar into the triple digits, RIA Novosti reported. Serbian officials asked Russia, which has already lent Serbia a helicopter to fight the fires, for additional support Friday. Through a deal signed by Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov and Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Russia agreed to send a Be-200 aircraft to Serbia on Saturday. The aircraft will remain in Serbia until September 15 The Be-200 can land on water and carry up to 3,000 gallons of water in its hull.
