Search efforts continue on Friday in the Himalayas for missing South Korea's renowned mountaineer Park Young-seok and his two colleagues. The Korea Alpine Federation (KAF) said in a press release that a rescue team led by veteran climber Kim Jae-soo will conduct a thorough search of the slope formed by a recent avalanche on Friday. The 19-member rescue team composed of eight climbers and 11 Sherpas searched the bottom of a large crevasse on the southern flank of the Himalayan peak of Annapurna on Thursday but found no trace of the missing three, the KAF said. The three had been highly assumed to have fallen into the large crevasse while they were trying to summit Annapurna. The three have gone missing after Park last contacted base camp on October 18. Park is one of the world's most successful climbers. In 2005, he became the first in the world to complete the Adventurers' Grand Slam by conquering all the world's 14 highest peaks as well as reaching the North and South Pole. He has already scaled Annapurna and returned this time to carve out a new route on the mountain's southern side.
