A single-engine airplane crashed in Germany, killing five people, including teenager and a child, and sending three others to area hospitals, officials said. Witnesses said the Piper PA 32 aircraft crashed Tuesday near Wickede after taking off from Dortmund, Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung reported Wednesday. Witnesses said they saw the plane flying low and strike a tree just before crashing into a field. Engelbert Gurka, Wickede city council member and deputy mayor, said, "The plane was very low over Wickede and apparently had engine misfires." Aviation officials said an investigation was begin conducted into what caused the crash.
