Future strategic cooperation agreements in the field of defence between Spain and Saudi Arabia were the focus of the meetings which took place in Riyadh during the week-end between the Spanish Defence Minister, Pedro Moranés and his Saudi colleague, Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, King Abdala's brother. The news were reported by ministerial sources in a statement. In the past months, the Spanish government is negotiating a strategic agreements with the Saudi government aimed at completing the sale of 250 Leopard armoured tanks . The Spanish military industry allegedly is "in a reasonably good position" for the sale, as Moranes pointed out during a recent hearing at the Congress of Deputies. (ANSAmed)
