At least a man has been killed and a Buddhist monk was injured when strong wind hit Shwebo, Myanmar's northwestern Sagaing region, over the last two days, a private daily reported Friday. The man was shocked to dead by the strong wind in Tharnar village in Wetlet township on Wednesday when the village was swept, said the Daily Eleven News. Nearly 2,500 households, pagodas and schools in about 10 villages were also destroyed, the report said. On Thursday, the strong wind that struck Monywa in Sagaing region, uprooted some trees and roofs of some residential buildings, destroying some billboards and lamp posts. From April 30 to May 2, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway regions as well as Kachin and Shan states were struck by lightning, which left one person dead.
