Police said on Friday they have arrested a runaway suspect blamed for an explosion that killed 11 people and injured 20 others in the northwestern province of Shaanxi. The suspect, surnamed Su, was captured after remaining at large for over five years, said the police in Fugu county where the deadly explosion happened. In 2006, a blast caused by dynamite ripped through Su's house, killing 11 and injuring 20 others in Houlaogaochuan village. Su, then head of the village, fled after the explosion. During an initial interrogation, Su has admitted unlawful possession of the dynamite, the police said. Fugu police said they started making investigations after receiving reports that a man resembling Su had been seen working in Baotou of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Su has remained detained back in Shaanxi since his arrest in Baotou, the police said.
