A 34-year-old man charged with aggravated child pornography possession in 2006 never went to trial because the court system in Lund, Sweden, forgot about him. Police confiscated 13,000 pornographic images and 236 films from the man, whose name was not reported, The Local said. The man never appeared for trial in 2008, but the Lund district court forgot to reschedule the trial. "A warrant was out for his arrest and he should have been reported as wanted straight away. But for some reason it was forgotten," chief prosecutor Mats Svensson told Skanskan newspaper. The case was discovered when someone inquired about the outcome of the trial. The man would have been free of the charges under the statute of limitations had it not been a case of aggravated child pornography, The Local said.
