Police said at least 10 people were injured early Sunday in a drag-racing crash near Orlando (Fla.) International Airport. One of the racing cars apparently left the roadway on Heintzelman Boulevard and ran into spectators watching the illegal race, Orlando police Lt. Arnold Alvarez said. The incident happened around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Wetherbee Road, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Police believe the vehicle that ran into the spectators left the scene along with some of the victims. Some of the wounded spectators began showing up at area hospitals following the crash, and one critically injured person was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Alvarez said. Police had closed down Heintzelman Boulevard to investigate the accident, the Sentinel reported.
