Two children were killed and two others injured when a fire erupted in a tent set up for quake survivors in the province of Van in eastern Turkey on Friday, local newspaper Today's Zaman reported on its website. The incident took place in a tent in Karpuzalan village in the province and the fire was caused by a heating stove in the Tolukan family's tent, according to the report. Six-year-old Ismail and 12-year-old Bahar were killed in the fire while the family's 12-year-old Mikail and two-year-old Kerem were seriously burned, said the report. Thousands of quake victims are taking shelter in tents in Van after the province was hit by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Oct. 23 and a 5.6-magnitude earthquake on Nov. 9, which killed 644 people and left thousands of others homeless.
